Infiniti QX65 Monograph – The Successor to the Beloved FX We’ve Been Waiting For

Infiniti has introduced the QX65 Monograph concept

At the Monterey Car Week auto show, Infiniti presented the QX65 Monograph concept, which will serve as the basis for the future production model. The car continues the ideas of the iconic FX, which started the trend for “coupe-crossover” vehicles back in 2003. The production version is expected to receive a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine with an output of 268 hp.

Previous attempts by Infiniti to revive the success of the FX, such as the QX70, did not achieve significant commercial success. However, the new QX65 Monograph showcases a bold design with a wide grille, illuminated logo, and arrow-shaped LED headlights. The body features a dynamic roofline, a contrasting black top, and 22-inch wheels.

“Sculptural with a sense of speed and elegance, with muscular proportions – all of this emphasizes the unexpectedly low roofline silhouette,” noted Alfonso Albaisa, Head of Design at Infiniti.

Technical Features and Prospects

The production QX65 will likely inherit the technical base from the QX60, including a 9-speed automatic transmission and an optional all-wheel drive system. Although the concept’s interior was not shown, the production version is expected to retain most of the exterior features.

Based on the brand’s latest trends, the QX65 could be Infiniti’s attempt to return to the premium crossover market with an emphasis on dynamics and style. The model’s success will depend on how successfully it manages to combine original design with the practicality expected by buyers.
