How Car Prices in Ukraine Have Changed Since 2007

Interesting statistics have emerged on the dynamics of change in the prices of brand-new cars over the past 15 years. We are talking about cars in showrooms and their prices in 2007 and 2022. Is there a clear trend? More yes than no. Some have significantly increased in price, some have decreased. And there are those that have practically not changed in price, despite technological advancements.

The basis for calculations was the rate of 27.5 UAH per $1 and 31.10 UAH per 1 euro. In 2007, $1 was worth 5.05 UAH, and 1 euro – 6.6 UAH, which seems unreal today. But even more unreal is the fact that models like the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 have become significantly cheaper. This is because, at that time, the largest engine size (4.8 L) was the norm, and other options were simply not offered. Today, a 2-liter engine on the BMW X5 has become the norm. That’s the whole secret.

Furthermore, it should be noted that, for example, the Honda Jazz in 2007 was a simple gasoline car, whereas in 2022 it is a more technologically advanced hybrid.
