However, there’s no need to rush to find those who “fix things.” There is a much simpler and more convenient procedure for selecting and buying a beautiful license plate.
How to Buy Beautiful Car Numbers in Ukraine
First of all, to avoid overpaying and to understand whether the desired numbers are available at the moment, you need to visit the site of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs opendata.hsc.gov.ua and check if the desired numbers are available (and where) to assign to your car.
Since March, it no longer matters where the car owner is registered and where they bought the car. You can use Kyiv region numbers even if you are registered in Kyiv, for example. All of this in theory, and in practice – TopGir has checked this through personal experience.
For clarity’s sake, we chose perhaps one of the most coveted number combinations, namely “7777.” In Kyiv, such numbers were not available (who would doubt?), but in the Kyiv region, we did find such a license plate. When we called there, they told us that such a number is indeed available and can be bought. The official payment is 30,000 hryvnias (excluding 20% VAT and the cost of special products). One nuance is that you can’t just come right away and buy the desired number. First, you need to register in the electronic queue, and only then go to a specific center.
In our case, we were told that we could be scheduled for December 9 (contacted on December 1). It seems easy and simple, and the price is quite adequate if you really want a “fancy” number.
However, if you sign up even for tomorrow, there’s no guarantee that your preferred license plate will still be available when you arrive. As explained to us at the service center, number reservation services are not provided by law, so if someone comes earlier and wants to buy the beautiful plate, it will be sold to them.
The takeaway is: if you really want to buy numbers like 7777, 9999, 0001, etc., it’s better to look for several nearby service centers and book the earliest dates. Overall, buying a beautiful car number legally and without overpayment is possible. A key factor is the region. It’s extremely difficult in the capital, easier in the regions, and even easier across the country to find a favorite number combination. To sum up…

For example, buying a car number 7777 with letters AA…AA is unlikely to cost less than 10 thousand dollars! The same applies to AA9999AA, etc. For some trump numbers, they even ask for two dozen thousand dollars. In short, where there’s demand, there will be supply.
