How to Choose
There are several methods of selecting car parts online, which allow you to find the necessary options as quickly and easily as possible. Of course, the first thing you need is information about which car parts you need to buy.
Since almost all online car parts stores have their own catalogs, you can:
- Select car parts using the online catalogs of online stores (by brand and model);
- Buy car parts by selecting them by VIN code.
The parts catalog is convenient because parts and components (body, engine, suspension, etc.) are immediately filtered. In addition, there is an opportunity to immediately select the necessary set for scheduled maintenance.
Most online versions of original catalogs are freely available (except for some car brands), but selecting parts by VIN allows you to achieve the most accurate result by choosing exactly the part you need specifically for your car. Therefore, selecting by VIN code is always more reliable.
If ordering car parts online by choosing them by make/model, there is a risk of buying a part that turns out to be unsuitable. For example, brake disks and/or pads may be offered in several options for the same car model but in different modifications/configurations. Commonly, buyers choose wheel rims for their car, only to find out at the service station that their car has a tire pressure sensor, which they didn’t consider. The same applies to consumables.
Original or Non-original
The prices for car parts on the internet are often cheaper compared to buying parts in Ukrainian stores. But, in any case, there can be a significant difference in cost, explained by the origin of the parts/accessories.
It is well-known that so-called original auto spare parts are always more expensive, and sometimes can cost twice as much as similar but non-original parts. Is it worth overpaying? There isn’t a definitive answer, but it is believed that original parts last longer.
