What Exotic Electric Cars Do Ukrainians Buy

In February, 538 new and used electric cars were sold in Ukraine. Among them, there are not only the popular Nissan Leaf and Tesla but also some rather exotic models.

Usually, the rarest electric cars in Ukraine are models for the Chinese market. Moreover, these are not necessarily Chinese electric cars. For example, the budget electric crossover Renault City K-ZE for $14,000 or the electric variant of the Nissan Sylphy sedan (sold as Sentra in our market) – 4 units of each were purchased in February. A couple of Dongfeng X-NV – the electric Honda HR-V – were also acquired.

Some Chinese electric cars demonstrate very impressive performance. For instance, the BYD Tang crossover (two of which were purchased) with 482 hp accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and can travel 500 km without recharging.

The Xpeng G3 can reportedly travel 520 km (at least on paper). We once wrote about this crossover, which is often called the Chinese Tesla Model Y. This electric car found one buyer, as did the GAC Aion S sedan – its range is 510 km.

From South Korea, two Samsung SM3s arrived in Ukraine – these are the local version of the Renault Fluence Z.E. Essentially, the two cars differ only by their logos.
