by Not so long ago, we wrote to you about the conceptual Ukrainian electric car Kyiv-1103. Now, a photo of the first Ukrainian electric SUV has been published online. 
To be more precise, it’s about the pickup LuAZ-130211E “Combi”. Yes, indeed, Ukrainians developed an electric pickup while Elon Musk was still a student. The photo of the car was published on the “Ukrainian Cars” community page, and it was captured by “Kyiv Vedomosti” journalists in 1997.
The LuAZ electric car was created in Bucha near Kyiv. The Ukrainian SUV was equipped with Delco Remy batteries. Two chassis configurations were developed (obviously, this is an SUV and a pickup). The design of the LuAZ-130211E was even approved by the Scientific Research Center for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. However, it did not progress beyond prototypes.
