A new Tank 800 was introduced at the auto show in Shanghai. The large SUV from Great Wall will go into production in 2022 and will become a cheap alternative to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Indeed, the five-meter Tank 800 greatly resembles a Rolls-Royce SUV. While it’s not an exact copy, the angular style and large chrome grille suggest that designers modeled the Tank 800 with an eye on the Cullinan.

The interior features leather and suede trim. Two separate seats with electric drive, ventilation, and retractable footrests are installed in the back.

It is known that the SUV will be a plug-in hybrid – its 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo and electric motor develop a total of 354 hp. The Tank 800 is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive.

By Chinese standards, this SUV is premium, but it will surely be ten times cheaper than the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Prices and detailed specifications will be announced closer to the sales start date.
