New compact crossover Skoda first shown on video

In March, the Czech brand Skoda will present a new crossover, which will become the smallest in the SUV lineup. At the same time, this does not mean that it will be simpler and more budget-friendly than the Karoq. On the contrary, the off-road baby, according to preliminary data, will receive many different innovations and features.

So far, it is not known for certain under what name the production version of the Vision X concept car will hit the market, but we can already imagine what the smallest Skoda crossover will look like. Rumor has it that the model may be named Kosmiq.

Judging by the fresh promo video, the car does not promise to be boring and “bland” at all. LED optics, floating indicators… the Czech Lexus, indeed.

In terms of technical filling, the new SUV will be a cousin of the Volkswagen T-Cross and SEAT Arona. Externally, as the Czechs claim, the novelty will be a typical Skoda, but fresher and more youthful.

In principle, without this in the subcompact crossover segment today, there is no way – without avant-garde and trendy features, the model is doomed to failure. So there is a high probability of similarity with the Vision X concept.

It is assumed that the new city “SUV” Skoda Kosmiq (we personally support such a name!) will receive gasoline 1.0-TSI three-cylinder and four-cylinder 1.5 TSI, as well as 1.6 TDI turbo diesel. Most likely, the drive will be front-wheel only, as in this class all-wheel-drive modifications are simply not in demand, as more than one manufacturer has already realized. The start of sales of Skoda Kosmiq (or whatever it’s called) is summer-autumn 2019.
