Tiny Honda Gets Tangled in Massive Crash at Nürburgring

Nürburgring Crash: Chain Reaction Caused by Loss of Control

A massive crash involving several sports cars, including a Porsche, a BMW, and a Honda S660, occurred on the Nürburgring track. The incident happened on a blind corner where the driver of the Honda, who was recording the events on a dashcam, collided with two other cars due to skidding on an unknown fluid.

It is particularly noteworthy that there were no active warning flags at the time of the crash, raising questions about track safety. The Honda driver attempted to brake, but due to a sharp loss of traction, avoiding the collision was not possible.

Event Details

According to the video footage, the Honda S660 crashed into a Porsche 911 and a BMW 3-Series at a speed of approximately 68 km/h (42 mph). The driver noted that the G-meter readings dropped sharply before the impact, reminiscent of sliding on ice. This supports the version about the presence of a technical fluid on the track.

G-meter shows braking G’s significantly dropped, like on ice.

Although some might blame the driver, the circumstances of the accident suggest that he could not have completely prevented the collision. Fortunately, most other drivers managed to brake and avoid further accidents.

Questions remain regarding the operation of the track’s warning system. Would the flags have made a difference if they had been active? This remains unclear for now. Such incidents remind us of the importance of a swift response to dangerous situations, especially on high-speed tracks like the Nürburgring.
