In the 1920s and 30s, Hispano-Suiza cars were competitors of Rolls-Royce and Bugatti, so it’s not surprising that the legendary brand has been repeatedly attempted to revive. The latest attempt was made for the Geneva Motor Show – the supercar Carmen was presented.
Hispano-Suiza Carmen looks very unusual, as its design is maintained precisely in the spirit of those pre-war Hispano-Suiza cars. More precisely, the Hispano Suiza H6C Xenia coupe, created by the Ukrainian Yakov Savchik, was chosen as a model for imitation.
Carmen has a tapered “stern” and hidden rear wheels, and the doors lift upwards.
The interior combines leather, suede, and wood, but the digital dashboard contrasts with the retro style.
However, the components of the Hispano-Suiza Carmen are modern. A pair of electric motors on the rear axle develop 1019 hp. It accelerates to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
Options will include batteries of 80 and 105 kWh.
In the latter case, the range is 400 km. In total, 19 Carmens will be released in 2020 at a price of 1.5 million euros.
