Chevrolet Introduces Corvette CX and CX.R Concepts for Gran Turismo
Chevrolet has introduced two futuristic concepts — the Corvette CX and CX.R, developed by the Chevrolet Performance studio in Michigan. Although the cars will not go into series production, they will serve as inspiration for the brand’s future models.
The Corvette CX features an aggressive design with a low profile (less than 1041 mm) and active aerodynamic elements, including a diffuser and rear wing. The interior is executed in a minimalist style with premium materials, and control is centered on a racing steering wheel with an integrated display.
“This pair of concepts will become a source of inspiration for the Corvette design language for years to come”
Technical Features
The base CX version is equipped with four electric motors with a combined power of over 2000 hp, powered by a 90 kWh battery. The racing variant, CX.R, received a combined powertrain: a twin-turbo 2.0-liter V8 with 900 hp power and three additional electric motors — one on each front wheel and one in the gearbox.
Both concepts will appear in the Gran Turismo game this month. This step highlights the growing interaction between automotive brands and virtual racing simulators, where fantastic projects find their second audience. For Chevrolet, it is also an opportunity to test public reaction to radical design solutions without significant costs for real prototypes.
