Maserati Prepares a New Page in Supercar History with a Mysterious Premiere

Maserati Prepares a Premiere at the Goodwood Festival

Despite financial difficulties, Maserati continues to develop its sports models. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will take place on July 10, 2025, the Italian brand will present a novelty. A preliminary teaser hints at an updated design, similar to the MC20 supercar, with characteristic ventilation holes and carbon fiber inserts.

The manufacturer remains mysterious but emphasizes that it will be a “new authentic embodiment of energy.” On social media, Maserati added:

“Get ready — a new MC chapter begins. Sharper shapes, the same unstoppable soul.”

The famous equation E=mc² also appeared in the publication, which may indicate an optimization of the weight-to-power ratio.

What is Known About the New Model?

The current MC20 is equipped with a twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine producing 621 hp (or 632 hp in the GT2 Stradale version). An electric Folgore variant was previously planned, but the details remain unclear. The MC20 lineup already includes a coupe (2020), a Cielo convertible (2022), and special Trofeo and GT2 Stradale versions.

The presentation of the novelty will take place as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Maserati logo — the trident. The festival will also showcase the MC20 GT2 Stradale, MCXtrema, and the V6-engined GranCabrio, which will participate in the hill climbs. This event will be a prelude to another anniversary — in 2026, the brand will mark the centenary of its racing history, which began with the Tipo 26’s victory at the Targa Florio in 1926.

The new model is expected to be either an update to the MC20 or a separate special series. For now, Maserati is keeping the intrigue, but it is already clear that the brand is betting on a combination of tradition and modern technology. Particular attention is drawn to the emphasis on “energy” — whether this will be related to hybrid solutions or refinements of conventional engines will become known in a few weeks.
