Mother and Son Detained at Airport While Attempting to Travel Abroad After Fatal Racing Accident

Arrest After a Fatal Race

20-year-old Alvi Limani and his mother, Vilma Vneshtu, were detained on a flight from Miami. According to the investigation, Limani participated in a street race in a BMW X3 in New Jersey, which led to a fatal accident. During the race, he collided with two cars, overturned, and one of the passengers died on the spot.

After the accident, Limani and another participant fled the scene. Later, he and his mother attempted to fly out of the country but were detained right on board the airplane. A video of the detention appeared online, showing the police escorting them in handcuffs.

Legal Consequences

Limani is now charged with a series of crimes, including involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving with a suspended license. His mother has also been charged with obstruction of justice. Two other participants in the incident will also stand trial alongside them.

Although an official connection to the known group “Squeeze Benz” has not been confirmed, Limani shares similarities with its members – age, car brand, and the location of the races. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement is seeking additional witnesses or camera footage.

This case has once again raised questions about road safety and punishments for illegal racing. In recent years, similar incidents have become part of social trends, leading to tragic consequences. New Jersey police have announced a crackdown on street racing, especially after its growing popularity in youth circles.
