Mazda CX-30 Has Become More Expensive But Received an Updated Stylish Look

Updates for 2026

The Mazda CX-30 is starting to show its age, but the company is updating the model with a number of changes for 2026. Unfortunately, these updates increase the starting price from $25,195 to $25,975.

Driven: The Mazda CX-30 Turbo Is A Luxurious Performance Crossover For The Masses

What do buyers get for the extra $780? A better-equipped CX-30 2.5 S, which now has a standard limited-slip differential for improved traction. The crossover has also received updated shock absorbers that promise to provide a more comfortable ride.

Additional Comfort and Technology

The CX-30 2.5 S Select Sport model for $27,660 is significantly better equipped in 2026. It now features heated front leatherette seats with eight-way power adjustment for the driver. The crossover has also gained wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as side mirrors with memory function and tilt-down in reverse.

The CX-30 2.5 S Preferred model for $29,290 replaces the old 8.8-inch infotainment system with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen. Buyers will also find a new wireless smartphone charging device.

New Aire Style

The main news for 2026 is the completely new CX-30 2.5 S Aire Edition version, which starts at $29,850. The base Preferred model has subtle exterior changes, including gloss black emblems, black roof rails, and black mirror caps. These are complemented by 18-inch wheels with a black finish.

The interior is executed in a different style: white leatherette seats with gray fabric inserts. Buyers will also find light gray contrast stitching and gray interior trim resembling suede.

The 2026 CX-30 2.5 S Carbon Edition model remains unchanged, while the 2.5 S Premium version is now equipped with a heated steering wheel and a surround-view monitor.

All mentioned models are equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 186 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel-drive system.

Customers can also choose a turbocharged engine, although the lineup has been shortened. As part of the changes, the 2.5 Carbon Turbo and 2.5 Premium Turbo versions have been replaced by the new Turbo Aire Edition.

It starts at $34,410, which means buyers now need to spend $1,270 more to get the 2.5-liter turbo engine producing up to 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Apart from this, it mirrors the cheaper Aire variant.

Finally, the top-of-the-line CX-30 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus model starts at $37,900. This is $750 more expensive, and the only change is new gloss black emblems.

The price increases may be justified by additional standard equipment, but it also reflects the general trend of cars becoming more expensive due to improved features and materials. The new Aire Edition version, with its unique design, may interest buyers looking for a more individual approach to choosing a car.
