Mercedes-AMG hints at a super sedan: will it become the next GT with four doors?

Mercedes-AMG seems to be hinting at an updated GT 4-Door.

The model will appear this summer and compete with the Porsche Taycan.

Mercedes’ design department has been in crisis, as for every successful model, there are several failures, including the CLA, EQE, and . However, another successful hit seems to be on the horizon, as the company hints at an elegant new sedan.

Mercedes-AMG is currently keeping the details under wraps, but they have announced that “something big is coming” in June. This message is accompanied by a dark teaser image showing a stylish sports car with a protruding nose and expressive headlights.

They are connected by a sleek windshield that smoothly transitions into a dynamic roofline running almost to the end of the car. We also see muscular rear curves and spacious cabin space.

Although the company remains tight-lipped, the AMG brand hints at an updated model . Spies have already photographed the model several times, but it was heavily camouflaged, so we didn’t expect anything this impressive.

The car will be released this year, and the company has already confirmed that it will be based on “the first specialized electric vehicle architecture developed by .” This is known as the AMG Electric Architecture (AMG.EA), and the model promises to be a “technology idol pioneering several new innovations.”

Details are still scarce, but the Porsche Taycan competitor will feature a high-performance battery and axial-flux motors. The model has been previewed in renderings, and rumors suggest that the top version could be equipped with around 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS).
