Mercedes Adorns the Faceless Form with Stars

Mercedes Prepares an Updated EQS SUV

Mercedes-Benz is working on an updated version of the EQS SUV electric crossover. According to information, the model will receive a revised front-end design, including new LED headlights with star-shaped elements and an updated radiator grille. The debut of the updated crossover may take place at the auto show in Munich, where the updated powertrain will also be presented.

Sales of the Mercedes EQS last year fell by 52%, reaching only 6,963 units. This is significantly less than the figures of some other premium models on the market. The manufacturer understands the problem and is preparing an update to increase the model’s competitiveness.

Expected Changes

Test shots of the prototype show that the front of the car is camouflaged, but new headlights with star-shaped LED elements are already visible. The rear remains almost unchanged so far, except for minor bumper updates. The interior is likely to undergo minimal changes, but an update of the multimedia system with artificial intelligence is expected.

Sources report that the updated model will receive a new battery and electric motors of its own development, which could significantly improve range and efficiency.

The full debut of the updated EQS SUV may take place in 2026. There are still many questions regarding technical specifications, but the company is likely to reveal details in the near future.

Recent years have shown that the electric car market is becoming increasingly demanding, and even premium brands like Mercedes must constantly improve their models. The EQS SUV update could be a key step in regaining buyer interest in this lineup. Particular attention is paid not only to technical characteristics but also to design, which should be more expressive and modern.
