New MG Models at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
The MG brand introduced two new electric models — the IM5 and IM6 — at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Both cars feature modern design and high performance. Additionally, the company showcased the Cyber X concept, which demonstrates a new direction for the brand’s design.
The IM5 is an aerodynamic liftback reminiscent of the Porsche Taycan. It is equipped with a panoramic roof, 19-inch wheels, and a large 457-liter luggage compartment. The interior features a 26.3-inch screen that combines the functions of the instrument panel and multimedia system. The car is offered with two battery options (75 and 100 kWh) and can travel up to 710 km on a single charge. The most powerful version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.
IM6 and Concepts
The IM6 is a crossover based on the IM5, but with greater ground clearance and a larger luggage volume (665 liters). It also received a 100 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 624 km. The Performance version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.
The Cyber X concept is an experimental model showcasing MG’s new approach to design. It features cubic shapes, LED panels, and hidden headlights. Furthermore, a special version of the Cyberster Black with exclusive black paint and red brake calipers was shown at the festival.
These new releases confirm MG’s ambitions in the electric vehicle sector. The IM5’s fast charging is particularly impressive — only 17 minutes to recharge from 10% to 80%. Combined with high performance and modern technology, the new models could become serious competitors in the European market.
