Chik-Chirik managed to gain some publicity by criticizing the new generation Minsk motorcycle. For those who aren’t aware, a few words: during the presentation, the factory director admitted that all the main components of the motorcycle are Chinese, and the factory only developed the design and conducted small-scale assembly.

This answer did not satisfy Lukashenko, who ultimately declared: “from January 1, you must surprise me. This work is of no importance. What I saw a year ago is still the same”.

And now a few facts about what the “new model” of the Belarusian motorcycle really is. The presented “novelty” is the Mash X-Ride Classic 650 motorcycle, supposedly produced under the aegis of the French brand, but entirely manufactured in China. This is how import substitution in metal works. There isn’t a single Belarusian part in it – even the X-Ride emblem remained in place!
