A video of the destruction of rare Dodge Viper prototypes of different generations has appeared online. In total, as many as 93 cars were crushed.
At one time, these Dodge Vipers were given to various American universities for research, but at the end of their service life, the cars were returned to Chrysler.
Why weren’t they sold to collectors? The fact is these are pre-production models, which means they lack a range of necessary safety and emissions control equipment.
The cars are not intended for use on public roads, although there have been such cases – two similar Dodge Vipers even got into accidents. As a result, Chrysler ran into problems and to avoid the recurrence of such cases, they decided to simply dispose of the remaining cars.
