Exclusive Car of Maradona Put Up for Auction

In Paris, a 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 will be sold at the Bonhams auction. Diego Maradona bought the car for himself, and therefore the price of the Porsche is skyrocketing – they plan to fetch between 150 to 200 thousand euros.

Maradona decided to buy the Porsche 911 Carrera 2 in a limited edition Works Turbo Look (with widened rear fenders) when he was playing in Spain. Only 1200 convertibles were released in this version.

The footballer owned the car for about a year but made a mark during that time. Notably, he sped through the city at 175 km/h, and the police stopped him for running a red light.

The Porsche 911 sports car is equipped with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine with 250 hp and can reach 255 km/h. Acceleration to a hundred takes 5.5 seconds.

The Porsche 911 Carrera 2 changed several owners and has driven 120 thousand km. It hasn’t been restored, but the car is in decent condition. By the way, this is far from the coolest car Diego Maradona had – at one time he even had a Ferrari F40.
