Toyota is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Corolla model with a special anniversary edition. It combines additional equipment with exclusive design changes.
Features of the anniversary edition
The hybrid SE version is used as the base. The Corolla 60th Anniversary Special Edition is available in Ice Cap or Supersonic Red colors. The latter is unique to this car and pairs beautifully with the two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, which are also offered exclusively for this model.
The updates don’t end there: instead of the traditional SE badges on the rear doors, there are now “60th Anniversary” inscriptions.
Interior and equipment
The interior has changed more modestly, but the anniversary edition features black-and-red sport seats as well as a 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system. These are joined by door sills and floor mats with 60th Anniversary branding.
Technical specifications
Under the hood is a hybrid powertrain based on a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS). For the regular version, this delivers up to 53 miles per gallon in the city, 46 miles on the highway, and 50 miles combined.
Production is limited to 2,500 units. The anniversary edition will arrive at dealers early next year. Toyota has not yet announced pricing, but the 2027 Corolla Hybrid SE starts at $27,615.
Availability and pricing
In addition to the special edition, Toyota introduced the 2027 Corolla. The car remains largely unchanged but gains a new black color called Inked. Buyers can also choose the familiar 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 hp (126 kW / 171 PS) and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torque, or the aforementioned hybrid.
The standard Corolla will arrive at dealerships this fall starting at $23,325, excluding the $1,295 destination fee. That is $200 more than the previous model, which started at $23,125.

The sixty-year history of the Corolla is a rare example of a model’s longevity, recognized around the world. The limited anniversary series adds exclusivity to the model, while the new color and special interior details are likely to attract both long-time fans and new buyers. At the same time, the updates to the standard version look restrained: Toyota focused on affordability and practicality, only slightly updating prices and the color palette. This approach allows the Corolla to remain one of the most balanced compact cars on the market.
