Russian football cannot be called exemplary, which is especially evident in the European cups, where RPL clubs regularly fail. If last season no club from Russia made it to the playoffs, this season Krasnodar did. Despite the relatively low level of the championship, salary levels in leading clubs are not significantly inferior to the expenses of European giants on player salaries, and sometimes even exceed them.
High earnings for players and a guaranteed place in the team due to the limit on foreign players lead to even not the most outstanding footballers being able to afford elite cars. Here is a list of betting companies accepting bets on the Russian championship, and we will further discuss the preferences of footballers playing in the RPL in choosing cars.
Mercedes-Benz G-Class
The legendary “G-Wagon” became popular in Russia after the 1990s. It was once considered a “gangster” car, but now it is in great demand among athletes.
The “G-Class” can be found in the garage of two footballers representing the Moscow CSKA – goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev and midfielder Alan Dzagoev.
Soccer classics are also preferred by Spartak defender Georgy Dzhikiya and Lokomotiv forward Fyodor Smolov.
Lamborghini
The European sports car is preferred by two foreign players who play for top clubs in the RPL. Many foreigners who come to the Russian championship do not lag behind local stars in their love for expensive cars.
A Lamborghini Huracan is in the garage of Zenit’s Iranian forward Sardar Azmoun. The Iranian has fully earned the right to own an expensive car. Last season he became the top scorer in the RPL and leads in the top scorer race in the current tournament. The same car is owned by Spartak’s Czech foreign player Alex Kral.
The latter has managed to shine not only on the playing field but also on social media, as a video featuring Kral made it to the #recs on TikTok.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class
The leader of the Russian national team and Zenit’s captain is more modest in his choice of cars than his teammates. If the cost of the aforementioned cars starts from 11-13 million rubles, then Artem Dzyuba’s car costs about 6-8 million.
Zenit has a sponsorship contract with Nissan, so many club representatives drive cars of this brand, but in Dzyuba’s case, we’re talking about his personal car. Former player of the Ukrainian national team Yaroslav Rakitsky, who also plays for the Russian champion, prefers cars from the German corporation Mercedes.
Alexander Kokorin
Alexander Kokorin is a real connoisseur of expensive cars. The forward began the 2020/2021 season with Spartak, with which he signed a three-year contract and an annual salary of around 3 million euros. The new contract was celebrated by the forward with the purchase of a new car.
The latest car for the forward became a BMW M760Li, but this is far from the only expensive car in the forward’s garage.
