In the occupied parts of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, occupiers are voluntarily and forcibly issuing Russian license plates to those who have acquired Russian citizenship. However, they offer so-called “temporary registration plates with the Kherson region coat of arms” to Ukrainian citizens.

We quote Interfax.ru:

“In Kherson, services for vehicle registration and driver’s license replacement have begun, motorists will be able to obtain documents and license plates of the Russian standard. Public services will primarily be provided to citizens of the Russian Federation who have already received passports… Russian citizens will be issued Russian standard plates with the region code 184.”

According to Russian media, vehicle re-registration is conducted through a simplified procedure: a vehicle inspection is not required for obtaining new numbers and documents. To replace the driver’s license, a Russian passport is necessary, and in its absence, a certificate of training in a driving school. Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ State Auto Inspectorate centers have already started operations there. This was reported by the BBC.

In short, all this very much resembles the situation with license plates in the so-called “LNR” and “DNR”. But we hope that a fool is enriched by thoughts, and are confident that all this is temporary…
