In Kyiv, a very rare version of the GAZ-21 from 1957 is up for sale. The uniqueness of this Volga is that it has a factory automatic transmission.
Yes, GAZ-21 models were made with an automatic, but only 700 units were produced. The transmission turned out to be complex in design and temperamental, and its repair was practically impossible in garage conditions.
Therefore, since 1962, the automatic was installed exclusively on KGB Volgas with a V8. By the way, such a car is also offered by the same seller, and we recently wrote about it.
From the outside, the Volga with an automatic looks no different from the ordinary first-series GAZ-21. The car has been restored and is now in excellent condition.
However, its price is high – 70 thousand dollars.
The fact is that very few of these GAZ-21s remain, as many owners simply discarded the broken automatic transmission and replaced it with a standard manual.
