The first official photos and videos of the Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4² have been published. The extreme version of the SUV returns, but now it’s crafted by AMG.

The new Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4² retains the main feature of its predecessor – portal axles. The ground clearance has been slightly reduced, but it’s still huge – 351 mm. This is quite enough to cross water obstacles up to 91 cm deep and climb 45-degree slopes.

Of course, the G-Class comes with off-road tires – now they are 22 inches. Carbon arch extensions were needed for them. And, of course, the affiliation with the AMG family is accentuated by the signature grille and the Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel.

Like the standard Mercedes-AMG G63, its off-road version is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo producing 585 hp. It consumes an average of 20.1 l/100 km. Of course, the lower-range transmission and differential locks are preserved.
The presentation of the Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4² will take place soon, and its sales will start by year-end. It is already known that the G-Class will have a price increase and will cost no less than 250,000 euros.
