by The FAW Group has unveiled the cost of the Hongqi S9 supercar. Until today, it was believed that the most expensive Chinese car was the luxury sedan Hongqi L5 for 900 thousand dollars. But the Hongqi supercar has beaten this record – 1.45 million dollars! 
Just imagine: you bought a Chinese car. For one and a half million bucks.
10 years ago, such a phrase would definitely cause hysterical laughter, but those times have passed when Chinese cars were laughed at. Hongqi S9 is an advanced and striking supercar with a carbon body and a hybrid powertrain. 
According to the Chinese auto giant, the specs of the novelty allow it to “compete” with such monsters as Bugatti, Pagani, Ferrari, etc. The Chinese claim that the 1400-horsepower supercar can hit the first hundred in 1.9 seconds and accelerate to a maximum speed of 400 km per hour. 
Production of the most expensive Chinese car is scheduled for 2022.
But in fairness, it should be noted that the arsenal of Chinese brands includes another, even more expensive car – the SUV Karlmann King for $2 million.
