Price is far from always being a guarantee of car reliability. This conclusion was made after the German technical inspection association compiled a new TUV 2021 reliability rating. According to the latest research, some cheap cars can maintain reliability longer over the years than expensive ones.
Thus, as stated in the TUV Report, some inexpensive models may have an average defect level lower than the industry average not only after 3 years, but even after 7 years. In particular, at the moment, the average defect level is 19.9%, while in Opel Adam, Honda Jazz, and Mazda2, it ranges within 4% after three years of operation.
Speaking of 7-year-old cars, these models have a figure increased to 10-11%, which is still better than the market average.
