by The new Honda Civic Type R has been unveiled. The next generation of the iconic hot hatchback will go on sale by the end of the year at a price of $40,000.
The 2023 Honda Civic Type R retains the predecessor’s 2.0-liter turbo engine but has become more powerful. The exact output is not disclosed, but preliminary data suggests it will be around 330 hp. By the way, this is the last purely gasoline model of the brand – from now on, there will only be hybrids and electric cars.
The hot hatch accelerates to 100 km/h in about 5.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 270 km/h. It retains a 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential.
Compared to the previous generation model, the new Honda Civic Type R looks significantly more restrained. Although it retains the rear wing and three exhaust pipes, the wheel arches are not as wide, and the body kit is more modest.
The interior traditionally features sports seats and metal pedal covers. The equipment includes a telemetry system.
