by The first characteristics of the completely new Lada Niva have leaked online. Recall that the eagerly awaited next generation of the SUV will debut in 2024.
Although now it will be more of a crossover, as it will be built on the Renault-Nissan CMF-B platform with a transverse engine – like the Logan and Sandero 2021. The same platform will be used by the new third-generation Duster.
It has become known that the new Niva 2024 will reach a length of 4280 mm with a wheelbase of 2600 mm. It will be offered exclusively in a five-door version.
Options will include a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 122 hp from Lada Vesta and a 1.3-liter 150 hp turbo engine from Renault Arkana. In the first case, you can choose a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT, while in the second case – only a CVT.
The basic version will have an all-wheel drive with a clutch, and a variant with an off-road package will have a reducer and a low-range transmission. In the latter case, the ground clearance will be as much as 240 mm.
