One of the main new releases at the Moscow Auto Show is the new Niva. The Lada 4×4 is still a concept car and will not go into production until 2019-2020.
The SUV has a rather aggressive design with a high hood and muscular extended fenders. The front bumper is styled after the Lada Vesta and XRay, and the headlights are fully LED. The profile is accentuated by 21-inch wheels.
Interestingly, the car has a duplicated fuel cap on both sides: on the right, it hides a 220-volt outlet. The small rear doors open against the direction of travel, just like the Toyota FJ Cruiser.
The interior features bright orange inserts, and the seats are separated by a high central tunnel. The steering wheel is flattened on the top and bottom. The new Niva has a virtual instrument panel and a large touchscreen. The Lada 4×4 package includes dual-zone climate control and navigation.
Of course, the production model will not look as flashy. It is known that it will reach 4.2 meters in length, and the platform will likely be borrowed from the Renault Duster. It is expected that under the hood there will be a 1.8-liter 122-horsepower gasoline four-cylinder engine.
