It is expected that the new fully electric sedan Neue Klasse from BMW will revive the i3 name, but it will be a completely different update than the model introduced back in 2013. This model, created as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model 3, will undoubtedly be the most important car in BMW’s new generation of electric vehicles.
BMW’s production boss, Bernd Körber, added that the German brand will continue to use the “i” index for its electric models, noting that this is an important way to distinguish them from existing ICE models.
The lineup is expected to include a base rear-wheel-drive model with approximately 300 hp, while all-wheel-drive versions will be released later. A fully electric version of the beloved M3, previously introduced earlier this year as the Vision Driving Experience, will also be presented. This model is equipped with four electric motors.
