by The Renault Arkana coupe crossover is entering the European market. It is noteworthy that this model appeared in our country earlier – Renault Arkana in Ukraine can be purchased right now, whereas in the EU it will start selling from 2021.
It should be noted that the new Renault Arkana for Europe will be somewhat different, despite its external similarity to the Ukrainian model. For starters, its assembly will be established in South Korea, whereas ZAZ receives car kits from the Renault plant in Moscow.
But the differences do not end there. The European Renault coupe-crossover is built on the CMF-B platform, like Captur and Clio, while the Ukrainian version uses Duster units (B0 platform).
The difference is noticeable in the interior, as the EU version received a virtual dashboard and a large 10.2-inch portrait-format touchscreen.
The Renault Arkana engines are also different. For the European Union, 1.3-liter turbo engines with 140 and 160 hp, as well as a 140-hp E-Tech hybrid system, will be offered.
However, there will be no all-wheel drive. Instead, there will be an RS Line version with a body kit and enlarged front air intakes.
