Mercedes-AMG continues testing its new CLE 63 Mythos coupe, and the latest spy photos from the Nürburgring reveal even more aggressive details. Despite the camouflage, the prototype already features production elements that impress with their sportiness.
At the front, a new bumper with more organic lower air intakes is visible, along with additional aerodynamic openings on the sides of the LED headlights. A deep front splitter completes the look.

The wide front fenders feature visible serrated ventilation openings to extract air from the wheel arches, reminiscent of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. At the rear, massive fender flares are installed, which will likely be replaced by single-piece panels by the time of the debut.
Rear Section and Exhaust System
At the rear, it is noticeable that the signature AMG 63 square exhaust tips are now positioned diagonally, echoing the style of the Lexus IS-F or Aston Martin DB12 S. The rear spoiler has received larger side plates, a central section with adjustable angle capability, and skeletal metal struts.
Black-Series Vibes
The more we see this car, the more it resembles a modern interpretation of the legendary Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series. This is an excellent direction, especially considering that the engine sound could be just as impressive.
Interestingly, AMG recently introduced the 1,153-horsepower electric GT 4-Door, which simulates V8 sound through speakers, and now it is releasing a coupe with a real V8.

Engine and Prospects
Under the hood is a modified version of the new 4.0-liter V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft and twin turbochargers, which recently debuted in the Mercedes S-Class. According to rumors, it could produce around 637-646 hp, which is 200 hp more than the six-cylinder AMG CLE 53.
This engine could become particularly important following criticism of the hybrid four-cylinder version of the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance. Buyers did not embrace the downsized engine, and Mercedes plans to bring back the V8 for the next generation of the C63. It is highly likely that AMG will first introduce the new engine in the Mythos this year and then begin using it in production 63 models.
Thus, the CLE 63 Mythos is becoming not just a track-focused coupe but also an important step in restoring trust in the brand after the unsuccessful experiment with four-cylinder hybrids. If the power rumors are confirmed, this car could become one of the most exciting sports cars of the year, combining modern technology with the classic V8 sound.
