The inauguration of Joe Biden is the top news of the day. Great hopes are placed on the newly elected president both in the USA and around the world. However, few know that Biden is also a passionate car enthusiast. Unlike his predecessor Donald Trump, he loves powerful American cars the most. The fact is, Biden’s father worked at a car dealership, and their family always had interesting cars – such as the 375-horsepower 1961 Chrysler 300G, which Joe drove to his prom.

The future president’s first personal car was a 1951 Studebaker. This was followed by a 1952 Plymouth Cranbrook convertible and a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air with a 4.6-liter V8.

Joe Biden also owned a Mercedes 190 SL roadster. But a special place in the life of the US president is occupied by the iconic 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. This convertible, with a 5.3-liter 300 horsepower V8, 4-speed manual transmission, and disc brakes, was a wedding gift to Joe Biden from his father.

The car is still in the politician’s garage, and Jay Leno even did a segment about it. The show aired when Joe Biden was vice president, and he complained that security wouldn’t let him drive the Corvette. Then he did a little burnout and admitted that he once accelerated to 256 km/h.

Moreover, the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette even appeared in Biden’s campaign video. Overall, the new US president loves Corvettes, and in 2014 he checked out the new model at an auto show in Detroit.

He once claimed to know about the development of an electric Chevrolet Corvette.
