The premiere of the new Seat Leon 2020 took place in Spain. The fourth-generation model will go on sale in the summer and will become a more emotional alternative to the Volkswagen Golf 8.
Seat Leon 2020 Design
The new Seat Leon was shown simultaneously in hatchback and wagon bodies. The cars look familiar, although their sides have become convex, and the front fenders are more pronounced. The slanted headlights are now LED.
The taillights are now stretched across the entire width of the body.
The Seat Leon 2020 hatchback reaches 4368 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, and 1448 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2686 mm. The wagon is larger – 4642 mm. The model is still built on the MQB platform and is technically close to the new Volkswagen Golf 8 and Skoda Octavia.
Seat Leon 2020 Interior
For the first time, the Seat Leon interior features a virtual dashboard.
The touchscreen has become larger (8.25 or 10.25 inches diagonally) and is oriented towards the driver. In DSG versions, a small joystick replaces the lever. The hatchback’s trunk volume remains unchanged (380 L), while the wagon’s grows to 617 L.
Even in the basic version, there is now keyless entry and a light sensor. Among the new options are three-zone climate control, Wi-Fi, and even a semi-autonomous driving system.
Seat Leon 2020 Specifications
Initially, the new Seat Leon will be equipped with gasoline turbo engines with a capacity of 1.0 L (90 and 110 hp), 1.5 L (130 and 150 hp), and 2.0 L (190 hp), as well as 2.0-liter turbo diesels at 115 and 150 hp. A 204-horsepower rechargeable hybrid has appeared, capable of driving up to 50 km on electric power. It is currently the top variant, although, of course, a new Leon Cupra will appear later.
