New Toyota Land Cruiser 2021 spotted on roads for the first time

In Japan, the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 has been spotted for the first time. The SUV prototype is undergoing tests, and the model’s premiere is scheduled for April. According to rumors, the Land Cruiser might even become $5000 cheaper in the base version to further distance itself from the Lexus LX.

However, the vehicle is heavily camouflaged, making it difficult to see its details. Although, renderings of the Land Cruiser have long been circulating online.

Previously, the Japanese automaker had already unveiled some specifications of the Toyota Land Cruiser 2021. It is known that the SUV will grow to 4970 mm in length, 1985 mm in width, and 1870 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2970 mm.

As before, 5 and 8-seater versions will be available.

The Toyota Land Cruiser will receive an extended set of safety systems, a virtual dashboard, and an increased 12.3-inch touchscreen.

However, the V8 is likely to be absent – except perhaps in a limited, high-performance GR version. Instead of the V8, a 420-horsepower 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 from the Lexus LS will be offered. Additionally, a new 3.3-liter turbo diesel and a hybrid setup consisting of a 3.5-liter 300-horsepower six-cylinder engine and a 180 hp electric motor are being developed for the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
