Few people know that the Porsche 911 in the 996 body had an armored version. This exact car recently surfaced in the reserves of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.

An important point is that this is not the work of some tuning studio (they even armor Ferrari supercars), but a factory modification. It was built to order for one wealthy client in a single copy.
They took a standard Porsche 911 Carrera coupe as a basis. It was armored with composite materials and bulletproof glass 20 mm thick was installed. The car can withstand gunfire from .44 caliber pistols.

All comfort attributes are preserved – cruise control, power seats, and audio system. However, the sunroof had to be removed. However, the weight of the Porsche 911 increased to 2.7 tons, and the engine remained the stock 300 hp, so the dynamics suffered seriously.
