by The automotive company Audi is completing tests of the updated version of the Q4 e-tron electric crossover. Spy photographers captured a nearly camouflage-free prototype in the Sportback body. The car’s overall appearance remains recognizable, but it has received a number of updates.
Exterior Updates
At the front, one can notice a slightly redesigned radiator grille, flanked by the familiar headlights. They are complemented by a new bumper with updated air intakes and a grille reminiscent of a honeycomb.

At the rear, the crossover received a more streamlined bumper, from which the “e-tron” badge was removed. The fake air vent was also deleted, and new triangular accents appeared at the edges. Furthermore, a new diffuser with more pronounced vertical elements can be seen.
Technical Details and Interior
The headlights and taillights have varying degrees of camouflage, indicating their update. A new wheel design and other minor changes can also be expected.
Interior photos were not taken this time, but previous shots already demonstrated a completely new instrument panel with a separately positioned curved display, similar to those installed in newer models like the A6 and Q5.
This means one can expect an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch multimedia system. These could be complemented by an optional 10.9-inch display for the front passenger.
Expected Powertrain Improvements
Details regarding the powertrain have not been disclosed yet, but the model will likely receive more efficient electric motors, improved batteries, and enhanced charging technology. This should make the Q4 e-tron more competitive, which is important as the model lost some of its appeal after the arrival of the Q6 e-tron.
Although specifics are scarce, the current model is equipped with a 77 kWh battery, as well as rear-wheel and all-wheel drive with two motors. The rear-wheel-drive version develops 282 hp, while the all-wheel-drive version has a total output of 335 hp. Customers can also expect a range of 415 to 463 kilometers.
The update of the Audi Q4 e-tron, especially in the Sportback body, is happening at a crucial moment for the brand, as the market becomes saturated with new electric models. Improvements in design, interior, and, most importantly, technical specifications are a necessary step to maintain competitiveness. The success of this model could largely depend on how significantly efficiency and range can be increased, as these parameters are often decisive for electric vehicle buyers today. The planned changes inside and out indicate Audi’s desire not just to update the model, but to offer a more modern and comprehensive product.
