Main Changes in the New Model
Exterior Updates
Spy photographers have repeatedly captured the updated Mercedes S-Class, which is likely to debut as a 2027 model next year, but now several production parts diagrams have appeared online. They suggest that the flagship sedan will get an oversized radiator grille, reminiscent of the one used on the Vision Iconic concept.
In addition to the taller grille, a new front bumper with an evolutionary design can be seen. It will be accompanied by new headlights with starry elements, as Mercedes has discarded any restraint in design.
Additional details are hard to discern, but the images give an idea of several possible wheel design options. Center consoles and door panels are also visible. However, these images do not reveal much information.
Interior Updates
Previous photos showed a new dashboard with the MBUX Hyperscreen system. It will be complemented by an updated center console, which will be much more traditional than the current model. The steering wheel has also received a minor update thanks to new controls.

Possible Technical Specifications
Mercedes has kept information about the future sedan secret, but the current model offers a range of powertrains, including a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine producing 442 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque.
Customers can also get a hybrid variant that uses the aforementioned engine, an electric motor, and a 28.6 kWh battery pack. This gives the model a combined output of 503 hp and an electric-only range of 47 miles.
If there is no replacement for displacement, the company offers a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with 496 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. There is also a hybrid S 63 E Performance with 791 hp.
These powertrains are likely to remain unchanged, although some updates for improved performance and efficiency are possible.
The S-Class update is expected to demonstrate increased competition in the luxury sedan segment, where technological innovation and design are becoming key factors in choice. The enlarged radiator grille and the introduction of the MBUX Hyperscreen underscore the brand’s desire to combine classic elegance with advanced solutions.
