Kia has officially announced prices for the updated 2027 Seltos, unveiling it at the New York Auto Show. The base model starts at $24,990, excluding the mandatory $1,495 destination fee. This is $1,200 more than its predecessor, but the manufacturer assures that the car has become larger and offers best-in-class passenger space.
Base Seltos LX Trim
The base version is the Seltos LX, which features a premium design reminiscent of the larger Telluride and EV9 models. Standard equipment includes LED headlights, tinted glass, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, a digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch TFT display is installed, along with a 12.3-inch infotainment system featuring a six-speaker audio system. Other equipment includes air conditioning, manual cloth seat adjustment, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a SynTex leatherette-wrapped steering wheel.
The basic safety suite includes forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, and lane departure warning, as well as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Additionally, front and rear parking sensors, high beam assist, and intelligent speed limit assist are included.
Under the hood, the base version is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 147 hp (110 kW) and 179 Nm of torque. It is paired with an intelligent continuously variable transmission (CVT) driving the front wheels. All-wheel drive is available as an option for $1,700.
Seltos S Trim
The next version, the Seltos S, costs $26,390 and offers a more refined exterior with retractable door handles and 18-inch wheels. Buyers also get a gloss black radiator grille and matching window trim.
The interior remains largely unchanged, but the S trim adds 12-way power driver seat adjustment and wireless smartphone charging. The safety list is expanded with blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, and safe exit warning.
Seltos EX Trim
The Seltos EX starts at $28,390 and features a slightly updated exterior due to LED taillights and a power tailgate. Inside, heated front seats with SynTex upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and improved sun visors appear. A separate 5-inch digital display for the climate control system is also installed.
Seltos X-Line S Trim
At $28,990, the Seltos X-Line S offers a more “off-road” look thanks to unique bumpers, gun metal dark accents, and black trim. All-wheel drive comes standard, but this version lacks the power tailgate, climate control display, and dual-zone climate control system.
Top-of-the-Line Seltos X-Line SX Trim
The highest version, the Seltos X-Line SX, costs $32,790. It can be identified by its more sophisticated headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels. The car also features a sun-absorbing windshield, power tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof. Other nice touches include a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and the climate control display.
The main difference in the top version is the engine. Under the hood sits a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 190 hp (142 kW) and 264 Nm of torque. It is paired with a traditional eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel-drive system.
Availability and Hybrid Version
The regular 2027 Kia Seltos will arrive at Kia dealers this summer. Following it, at the end of the year, an all-new hybrid version will appear. Prices for the hybrid will be announced closer to the start of sales.

Thus, Kia is betting on increased size and improved equipment, justifying the price hike. Interestingly, the company offers a wide selection of trims — from the base to the luxurious X-Line SX — and is also preparing a hybrid version, which is expected to be a response to the growing demand for fuel-efficient vehicles. It is worth noting that even the base version gets a modern set of safety systems, making it competitive in its segment. The arrival of a hybrid later this year could significantly expand the model’s audience, especially among those seeking a balance between power and fuel economy.
