Unmanned Karsan e-Atak Autonomous buses continue to expand their presence in new markets. In the first decade of March, one of these vehicles was tested in Italy, at the Safety Park testing ground in the city of Balzano. This is a historical event because, for the first time in the country, testing of a 4th-level autonomy electric bus was conducted in collaboration with the local bus operator Sasa.
It is important to note that the medium-capacity electric bus e-Atak Autonomous from the Turkish manufacturer Karsan was created with the support of a technical partner – the company Adastec from the United States of America. This vehicle uses LiDAR technology (laser rangefinder), as well as cameras and radars for detecting obstacles, traffic lights, and pedestrians in real-time.
