Police intercepted a Kia moving at 109 miles per hour, and it still didn’t stop

Police in Arkansas had to perform two PIT maneuvers before they could stop the Kia driver.

It turned out that almost everything related to his driving was illegal.

An ASP dashcam captured the entire senseless pursuit, including both PIT maneuvers.

Fleeing from Arkansas State Police is certainly not a brilliant idea. Even those who manage to escape sometimes get caught later. In the latest high-speed chase outside West Memphis, the driver learned his lesson the hard way. ASP crews used the PIT maneuver not once, but twice, to catch their man.

According to the video description, the pursuit began near the Arkansas-Tennessee border. Reportedly, an officer noticed a Kia with an expired registration sticker as it drove by. Whether that was the reason for the stop is unknown, but the trooper quickly caught up to the car and attempted to stop it.

Not only did the Kia driver not stop, he changed lanes without signaling and sped away, prompting the officer to initiate a pursuit. During the chase, the vehicles exceeded speeds of 100 mph (160 km/h), and the officer used a PIT maneuver, making contact at 109 mph (175 km/h). The Kia spun clockwise and likely crashed into a concrete barrier. This is evident from the hood being raised the next time we see it.

Trooper Beard made another attempt to block the driver, but the Kia kept moving, now bouncing down the road with the hood obstructing visibility. It’s unclear what the driver was thinking, but his escape attempt was ultimately futile.

In any case, ASP crews this time managed to execute the PIT maneuver even more easily. The car is blocked again and crashes into a wall, where it comes to a permanent stop. The driver exits and calmly walks back to the officers as if nothing happened. He allegedly claimed he was trying to reach his injured daughter. Regardless of his reasoning, he now faces serious charges.

Police arrested and booked him for felony fleeing, driving with revoked privileges, driving without current registration, lack of insurance, and resisting arrest. Let it be known: if ASP doesn’t get you after one PIT, .
