Record Hyundai Ioniq 5 Sales in July
In July 2025, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 demonstrated impressive sales growth – almost 6 thousand units per month. This is 70% more than in the same period of 2024. Such a jump is linked to the approaching end of the federal tax incentive for electric vehicles, which motivates buyers to make quick decisions.
Overall, Hyundai showed excellent results in July, selling 79,543 cars – 15% more than last year. The highest demand was observed for the Tucson, Santa Fe, and Palisade models, which showed significant growth. However, not all models are on the rise – Kona and Santa Cruz showed a decline in sales.
Sales Dynamics by Model
Randy Parker, President of Hyundai Motor North America, stated:
“We set new records for several models, including the Elantra HEV, Santa Fe HEV, and IONIQ 5, with electric vehicle sales growing by 50% compared to last year. These results demonstrate our momentum in the sustainable transportation sector.”
Interestingly, the Ioniq 5 became an exception among Hyundai’s electric vehicles – it is the only model that surpasses the 2024 figures. The Ioniq 6 and other electric cars in the group are still lagging behind last year’s results. The new Ioniq 9 model, which appeared only this year, has already shown good results with over a thousand cars sold per month.
In total, for the seven months of 2025, Hyundai sold 518,823 cars in the USA, which is 11% more than in the same period last year. Demand for SUVs and electric vehicles continues to grow, allowing the company to expect even better results in the second half of the year. The growth rates of the Palisade (+53% in July) and Santa Fe (+57%) are especially impressive, which together with the Tucson form the brand’s powerful SUV segment.
