The iconic American Dodge Challenger will be taken out of production by the end of this year, and it will soon be replaced by an electric vehicle. As a farewell, the sports division has prepared the SRT’s fastest and most extreme version — the Demon 170.

Dodge Challenger Demon 170 — Specifications
The new Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 has received an even more powerful version of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8. In fact, Stellantis engineers have rebuilt the engine — replacing the injectors, valves, supercharger, and spark plugs, with the cylinder block reinforced.

On regular gasoline, the eight-cylinder engine produces 913 hp and 1097 Nm, but on bioethanol, its output increases to 1039 hp and 1280 Nm. Additionally, the 8-speed automatic transmission and rear axle have been reinforced, and cooling for the power unit is provided by the air conditioner.

There is also a special extreme mode for drag racing with a launch control feature — it is activated by a separate key. In this case, accelerating to 100 km/h takes just 1.66 seconds — a result on par with Formula 1 cars and a record among production cars. Even sports electric cars like the Tesla Model S Plaid and Rimac Nevera are slower. The quarter-mile drag race is completed in 8.91 seconds, with a finishing speed of 243.2 km/h. The maximum speed of the Dodge Challenger Demon 170 2023 is 346 km/h.

The new Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 has been equipped with Bilstein adaptive dampers and special wide tires for drag racing — Mickey Thompson ET Street R, sized 245/55 R18 at the front and 315/50 R17 at the rear.
Design and Equipment of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170
Notably, the appearance of the powerful charged modification differs little from the standard Dodge Challenger 2023 — it only has widened fenders, a hood scoop, and a trunk lid spoiler installed. Carbon-fiber wheels are offered as an option. Special demon-shaped logos have appeared on the body and interior.

To reduce weight, part of the soundproofing, the rear bench, and the front passenger seat have been removed from the cabin. However, for an additional fee, all of this can be returned, as well as adding Alcantara interior trim, electric drive, seat ventilation and heating, steering wheel heating, a sunroof, and a powerful Harman Kardon sound system with 18 speakers. Various technical information about engine temperature, compressor pressure, acceleration time, and power and torque graphs are displayed on the multimedia screen.
The charged model will be released in a limited series of 3300 vehicles. You can buy a Dodge Challenger Demon 170 in the US at a price starting from $96,666, making it cheaper than most exotic supercars. Orders for the high-powered American muscle car will begin on March 27.
