Declassified scheme for importing non-customs-cleared cars from Germany to Ukraine

Recently, among the non-customs-cleared vehicles, the number of cars with German registration has increased. According to the GFS data, Germany has already entered the top three countries from where cars are brought on euro plates (along with Poland and Lithuania, of course).

Declassified scheme for importing non-customs-cleared cars from Germany to Ukraine

It turned out that a new popular scheme for importing used cars from Germany has appeared. It was disclosed by the General Director of the All-Ukrainian Association of Automobile Importers and Dealers, Oleg Nazarenko.

According to him, it is more complicated to import non-customs-cleared cars from Germany. The fact is that, unlike Poles or Lithuanians, Germans require the car to be deregistered when selling it. It’s not surprising: no one wants to pay transport and environmental fees.

However, our dealers have already found a way out of the situation. They import the car on German plates into Ukraine and immediately after crossing the border, they remove them and replace them with duplicates.

After that, the real license plates are returned to the sellers, and they deregister the car. In Ukraine, the cars drive on counterfeit euro plates, and in Germany, they no longer exist according to the documents.
