The law on free customs clearance has been signed by the president and has come into force. Now individuals, i.e., ordinary Ukrainians, can import cars from Europe or America without paying VAT, excise duty, and customs duties.
The benefits are valid during martial law and apply to passenger cars, trucks, motorcycles, buses, and bodies. Additionally, all imports (not just cars) have been exempted from VAT for single tax payers of groups 1, 2, and 3.
That is, customs clearance in Ukraine is now zero. Of course, the cost of vehicle registration, the pension fund fee, and the certificate of compliance with eco-standards (if the eco-standard is not specified in the technical passport) must be paid, but these are relatively small amounts.
It is noteworthy that there are no import restrictions – one person can import even a hundred used cars (if, of course, they can leave Ukraine). Reselling imported cars is also not prohibited.
