To be more precise, the Finn decided to take such a step after the service center told him about the need to replace the batteries. The quoted cost of replacement with labor was 20,000 euros. The service refused to replace the batteries under warranty, arguing that the car was already 8 years old, and the warranty did not apply to it. Note that 20,000 euros is half the cost of a 2013 Tesla Model S in Finland.
