Rimac Nevera R Sets 24 World Records and Becomes the Fastest Electric Car

The Croatian hypercar Rimac Nevera R has made a real breakthrough in the automotive world: in a single day, it updated 24 world performance records at once and became the new benchmark among production electric vehicles.

The most striking result is the legendary 0–400–0 km/h run, which is considered the pinnacle of engineering perfection in sports cars. The Nevera R completed it in 25.79 seconds – almost two seconds faster than the previous record holder, the Koenigsegg Regera.

The secret to success lies in the upgraded powertrain with 2107 horsepower and a new battery developed by Rimac engineers. Thanks to this, the Nevera R dominates in all key dynamics disciplines. For example:

  • Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h – 1.72 seconds
  • Acceleration to 400 km/h – 17.35 seconds
  • Complete stop from 400 km/h – all together in the same 25.79 seconds

The list of records includes a 1/4 mile pass in 7.97 seconds, a 1/8 mile pass in 5.13 seconds, acceleration to 60 mph in 1.66 seconds, and a maximum recorded speed of 431.5 km/h.

Importantly, all records were set with one car, on one day, and on one track – at the Automotive Testing Papenburg center (Germany). The results were recorded by independent Racelogic V-Box and Dewesoft systems, so the figures are officially confirmed.

Despite its extreme characteristics, the Nevera R retains the features of a road car: it has climate control, a multimedia system, and a comfortable interior. However, it is not a mass product – only 40 units are planned to be produced, each costing from $2.7 million.

According to the company’s founder, Mate Rimac, this success is not just a set of records, but proof that the future of motorsport and hypercars is electric. And, as Rimac noted, other manufacturers “may need decades” for a similar breakthrough.
