Recently, taillights in the spirit of Bugatti Chiron and sequential turn signals have become particularly popular, as seen on other premium and luxury cars. It’s all beautiful and cool, but when it comes to taillights in general, the most impressive and unusual ones were invented back in the late 1960s.

In particular, we are talking about the concept car Chevrolet Corvette Manta Ray 1969. It was the first and, in fact, the only one in the world to receive… retractable stop signals!
The most curious thing is that despite the visual effect, it was not the lights that moved, but a set of mirrors. The mirrors flipped over during sudden braking, and the actual stop signals, which were located inside the car facing upwards, were reflected by them.
Have you seen the most unusual supercars made with an axe?
