The new Jeep Wagoneer and its luxury version, the Grand Wagoneer, have finally been officially unveiled. Starting this summer, the flagship Jeep models will go on sale at a price of $58,000 for the Wagoneer and $87,000 for the Grand Wagoneer.
Jeep does not hide that the main competitor of the model is the Cadillac Escalade. The new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are also frame-based – built on the Ram 1500 pickup platform. The vehicles are sizable – 5435 mm in length and 2123 mm in width with a wheelbase of 3124 mm.
The design is typical of Jeep and in the style of the new Grand Cherokee L. The vehicle has an angular two-volume profile with a high hood and a signature grille.
The interior finish, even in the base version, includes leather and wood. The SUVs have a virtual dashboard and a large touchscreen. The Grand Wagoneer features two touch displays on the central panel and an additional one for the front passenger (similar to the electric Porsche Taycan). Plus, separate monitors for rear passengers.
The 2021 Jeep Wagoneer can be either 7 or 8-seaters, while the Grand Wagoneer is only seven-seater, with separate second-row seats. The trunk is huge even with all seats in place – 775 liters.
The new Jeep Wagoneer is equipped with a 5.7-liter 392 hp V8 Hemi, while the Jeep Grand Wagoneer has a 6.4-liter 471 hp. Both can tow a 4.5-ton trailer. The SUVs received an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with a low range, and the Grand Wagoneer also has an air suspension with adjustable (up to 257 mm) ground clearance.
